Let’s talk ~motivation~
“It’s not about motivation, it’s about discipline”
You’ve probably heard that quote a million times. I don’t know how I feel about it, because for me, going to the gym is something I LOVE to do, because I workout to feel good!!! I don’t ever feel the need to force myself to go because if I really don’t want to go, I’ll just not go!
Once in a while though, I’ll have a day where I know if I go I’ll feel better, but it’s difficult to get myself going. On those days I try to prioritize the simple things that give me an extra push in motivation to go
Random things that motivate me to have a killer workout:
a cute gym fit (look good, feel good, lift good)
loud music & headphones
a yummy energy drink
planning my workout ahead of time — if you have a plan you’ll have more confidence!
going after I’ve eaten a meal, making me more energized for my lift
just going. usually, I want to be there, but on the off chance that I don’t feel like it I just go through the motions and once I’ve gotten started I always feel so much better!
And if you really, really don’t want to go to the gym… ask yourself why? Maybe you need to switch up your workout style and find something that works for YOU! Working out should be a feel-good experience, not something that feels forced <3
